An Altinkum
Holiday
A lovely resort town in Turkey that is still in
the works of being created is called Altinkum. Altinkum is
located around 123 miles from the city of Aydin. Due to its
proximity to the Aegean Sea, this city is a popular tourist
attraction. A bit of history for this city is that the Apollo
Temple located within was destroyed by King Darius of Persia,
but later taken and recreated by Alexander the Great. The
supposed last home of the Virgin Mary is said to be located in
Meryemana, a short ways away from Ephesus and Miletos. There are
many people who visit this sacred place each to pay respects.
After being appointed by the government as a tourist city, the city has grown massively. A marina named D-Marin Didim was constructed on the Third Beach in 2009, at the expense of around 50 million US dollars. This is now the second largest Marina in the entire continent of Europe, making it an excellent tourist attraction year round. The marina itself has its very own gyms, shopping centres, and wharf. This marina also has plans to construct 5 star hotels. Due to its closeness to the Aegean Sea the city has developed a micro-climate of sorts. This causes it to have a lower humidity then most of the rest of the country, making it a wonderful place for people who suffer from afflictions such as asthma and arthritis. This is definitely a wonderful place to go if you need a healthy, warm place to live. It was recently recommended by the World Health Organization as a great place to go. Out of the 365 days of the year this city sees 340 sunny days, making it an excellent place for those who enjoy the sunlight and its life giving warmth. The temperature remains the same for most of the year. In the summer the temperature stays near a steady 15 degrees Celsius, and in the winter stays near a steady 20 degrees Celsius. No matter what time of the year you come here, you are guaranteed not to be disappointed! The name of the city means Golden Sand. This city has three beautiful beaches that fight for the attention of tourists and people who live there. First Beach is great for restaurants, shopping, and night life, which the Second and Third beaches are generally more quite and calm. This gives people travelling here the opportunity to pick what they’d like to do, instead of being forced into one spot with others.
