Hisaronu
Located in one of the most historical
country in the world, Hisaronu is
tourist village in the Dalaman district
of the province of Mugla in Turkey. It
is found south west of Turkey’s
‘Turquoise Coast’ just between Fethiye
and Oludeniz. Sights on this tourist
spot are endless due to its strategic
location on the face of hills. Cottages
and apartments are built the top of the
hills giving a breathtaking view of the
Mediterranean Sea.
Being close to the Mediterranean Sea, Hisaronu could have been an entry gate of the Greeks. Flood of knowledge must have passed through its hills and spread all around Turkey and the rest of Europe. Greeks must have been at awe at Hisaronu’s plateau at around 1,000 feet above sea level just beneath Mount Babadag. Remains of other civilizations like the Persians and Roman are still existent in some part of the town particularly the ruins of Ephesus dating back for almost 2,000 years. Hisaronu Holiday beaches are more like a catch basin of the Aegean Sea. Cliffs wards off too strong winds giving the beaches its calm character and enticing tourists to bask under the sun on its shore line. The sands are beautifully pale finely contrasting the Mediterranean Sea’s blue green water. Lush greeneries are everywhere giving a breath of fresh with every waking morn. Jeep safari is one of the attractions of Hisaronu for those who are tired of lying under the sun or swimming on the shores. Touring around the local towns and villages for shopping bargains is always a fun idea especially for women. The forest is also a destination with its winding paths that lead to exquisite views of the whole town from above. Another stop would be a town called Kaya Koy, just a few kilometres south. It was once a wealthy and important place but few regard it as a ghost town because of the stone houses built in it. For those who thrill adrenalin rush, Hisaronu offers the best in extreme sporting. Because of the hillsides and plateau, an extreme sport called Paragliding is now popular and one of the main attractions in this tourist village. Using winds that hit the side of the hills give paragliders an upward to push for a more steady gliding over the Oludeniz beaches.Water sports are also available like Jet Skis and Speedboats. Hisaronu is located just 70 kilometers south of Dalaman Airport in Dalaman Province. Direct flights are now available from United Kingdom and from the airport, transports are available. |
