A wonderful tourist resort located in Turkey is the city of Bodrum. Bodrum can be found in the Mugla Province, which is part of the Aegean Region. This port town is situated at a point checking into the Gulf of Gokoya, and looks upon the island of Kos. A great tourist attraction to this marvellous city is yachting, sailing, and visiting the many sights and places of interest. Long ago this city was known as Halicarnassus of Caria, and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Mausoleum of Mausolos, was built here. A castle known as Bodrum Castle was built in the 15th century by the Crusaders and looks upon the beautiful harbour and International Marina. Within the castle grounds the Museum of Underwater Archaeology hosts many different festivities during the year.

The climate of Bodrum is like many of the other climates in the Mediterranean. Most of the days of the year are sunny, with little overcast or rainy days, and virtually no snow. The temperatures in the winter time usually go no higher than 57 degrees Fahrenheit and no higher than 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. This means that the summers are hot, humid, and bright. The winters are cooler, sunny, and just as bright. It makes a great place to be in either season, which is why it is such a huge tourist attraction.

A few places of interest within Bodrum are of course the Bodrum castle, the foundations and sculptures of the ancient mausoleum, and the great markets that ca n be found within its limits. The city of Bodrum has inhabitants that call it home from all over the world, and regions nearby. This place is also one of great importance to the people living within it, and news travels fast here. Nothing really happens that takes its citizens by surprise, as things travel quickly. This makes tourism especially effective here because the people who call Bodrum home known exactly what people are interested in.

The majority of the citizens of Bodrum are ones who cater to the arts of writing, poetry, acting, learning, studying, and of course singing. This city is the perfect place for people who are interested in performing and the arts that entail that type of activity.
