tourist city in Turkey. This
place is loaded with several

For those looking for lodging you will find over six hundred hotels to choose from. Some offer package deals that include the cost of hotel stay. There are five down to three star rated rooms to rent. If you book it at least a few months in advance you will reap a great discounted savings, the same thing can be said about your air fare. If you love to go shopping, you are in for a real treat when you find your way to the famous Grand Bazaar. This is quite similar to our American flea markets only a lot larger. This is a covered market with around four thousand vendors selling their wares. To see every stall you would need at least one full day. You could do a lot of shopping during that time. This is a definite must see to add to your list. There are several historical museums for example; the Topkapi Palace. It is surrounded with walls, and only one entrance. It is where the Ottoman Sultans began living in 1856. The architecture inside is ornate and gorgeous. Perhaps it will inspire you in some positive way. You truly feel like royalty upon entering. The blue Mosque a recognizable name was built between 1609 and 1616. It is a dome shape and has 260 windows allowing the daylight to stream inside. It is decorated with mainly blue tiles and a mix of yellow, red and green sporadically placed. Everyone who has visited comes out with a great appreciation for the beauty of the building they have just witnessed. There is no fee to enter but does adhere to certain hours that it is open to the public. For something a little different you might want to visit the Golden Horn, this is a natural harbour and the view is spectacular along with the tiny wooden houses that line the streets. While there, make sure to see a few of the churches and understand that it will scream history. If you are into the night life, then you would be interested to know that you have your choice of music. You can go from the cool jazz clubs to rock and roll venues. Those would be great places to observe the local people. Imagine a dancing away the night in Istanbul. |
