You have probably heard a million times that Turkey is the example par excellence of the clashing of cultures due its geographical position straddling Europe and Asia. But what you may not have heard is that there is more to Turkey than the Byzantine, Grecian and Ottoman empires. For those savvy with historical myths, the ancient city’s name was Telmessos with a very interesting origin according to myth. To attest to this, there is a Hellenistic theatre ruin as well as Lycian tombs pointing towards Greek civilization at some point in the long history of Fethiye. 

Fethiye has natural beauty a very inviting climate especially during the summer that attracts tourists especially Britons in droves. To underline the fact it has actually been voted as the best tourist centre in the world in recent years. Then add to the fact that it is quite cheap compared to other leading tourist destinations in the world and it makes a perfect holiday spot whether for family, business or romantic holiday.

The blue waters of the Mediterranean and the lagoons especially in Oludeniz which is a few miles away make one wish to make a permanent home here just like many tourists have already done. Here you get to experience all sorts of fun with water sports like surfing and canoeing taking pre-eminence. 

Then there is the Fethiye Museum from which one gets to soak up all the history that they can care to take. With artefacts starting from the very recent to the very ancient, the chronological overlap of civilization is laid bare in fine artistic detail. 

The facilities here are world class despite the cheap lifestyle offered and there are different types of accommodation spaces fro any tourist. The infrastructure is good and the good communications lines here should make your life really easy when you visit here.
